REPORT & TESTIMONIES
See how the Love Hemel Prayer Walk began and what we have done since!
2024 Prayer Walk | Update
While it is fair to say that we did not plan for rain but we refused to let this dampen our desire to saturate Hemel in prayer! And to our amazement, many others joined us in Gadebridge Park to worship and pray before heading out to do the Prayer Walk. There was such a great feeling of unity and passion as we came together as the body of Christ. Thank you to everyone who came huddled under umbrellas – you are amazing!
Despite the challenges of the weather, we had 58 people, from 15 different churches covering 731 streets. While most of the streets were covered on Saturday, some of the allocated streets are being walked during this week when the weather is a little better.
We aim to ensure that every street in Hemel is prayer walked by the end of July. When signing up, many of people agreed to prayer walk extra streets and with this commitment we will cover 275 of the remaining 345 streets! That leaves just 70 streets to allocate. If you would like to prayer walk any of the remaining streets please email us at info@lovehemel.org.uk
Continue to pray for Hemel as people go out to walk the remaining streets. We believe that the walk is an act of faith and in every street we place our feet the light and life of Jesus is going to come. Thank you again for being part of this adventure in prayer – you are amazing!

2022 Prayer Walk
As he finished the walk in 2021, David had a sense that he should carry on Prayer Walking Hemel in 2022, but that he should not do this alone. So with 42 believers from 10 churches across Hemel, they saturated Hemel in prayer in the 2 weeks leading up to Easter.

2023 Prayer Walk | Update
On Saturday 1st July 2023, 75 believers from 16 different Churches came together to Prayer Walk 750 Streets across Hemel! Before heading out for the walk, we met in Gadebridge Park for briefing and corporate prayer. This was an encouraging time and so inspiring to be together a community of believers, praying and believing as one, for God to transform Hemel.
Though we did not get the 100 people we were hoping for to cover every street in Hemel on that Saturday, David, along with some other volunteers, completed the remaining streets over the following months.
In the build-up to last year's Prayer Walk, we held a Launch Service! It was a wonderful evening where we shared our hearts behind this initiative and dedicated time to worship Jesus and pray for our town. Thank you to all who came and got involved, it was such a rich time together.

2021 Prayer Walk
In 2021 David completed the Love Hemel Prayer Walk, covering every street in Hemel Hempstead. The focus was to pray for the healing and restoration of the community from the effects of the pandemic. He used 'The Lord’s Prayer' as a simple template to focus and direct his prayers. The walk was called “Love Hemel” as a reflection of God’s heart of love for our community.

2025 Prayer Walk | Report & Testimonies
Thank you for supporting Love Hemel 2025 and being part of a momentous month of prayer for our town. During the month of June, 64 Christians, from 13 different churches, came together to prayer walk 1060 streets! Although we have come together from different churches, we are united in our faith in Jesus and a passion to see every person in our town encounter His transforming love.

ISAIAH 43:19 NIV

Testimonies
“ As I walked the streets, I prayed that the Holy Spirit and the fragrance of Jesus would invade every nook and cranny and enter every home and person. I sensed that the churches in Hemel should celebrate our differences but work together ~ just like beautiful flowers in a garden. The colours and types are all different but all beautiful in their own ways. Within a garden they all come together to create a thing of beauty. We should celebrate our differences but recognise the beauty in each community (or area of a flower bed) ”
